Jacksonville, FL., -- The Edward Waters softball team claimed a 2-1 series victory over the visiting Benedict College Tigers after securing a 9-1 win on Saturday, March 29.
EWU got on the board in the first inning after
Brooke Rice homered to left field, scoring two runs.
Riley Kapparis earned the win for the Lady Tigers. The starter allowed three hits and one run over five innings, striking out three and walking three.
Kapparis, the number seven hitter for EWU, led the way with three runs batted in. The pitcher went 1-for-3 on the day.
Calyn Rounsaville and
Laura Scott each collected two hits for Edward Waters. EWU also stole three bases in the game.
