Jacksonville, FL., -- The Edward Waters softball team completed their three game SIAC East Division sweep over Fort Valley State with a 7-4 home victory at Nips Sams Memorial Park on Saturday afternoon.
EWU was the first to get on the board in the first when
Dazha Durand drew a walk, scoring one run.
Fort Valley took the lead in the top of the second. Alexia Scott homered to right field, scoring two runs, to give FVSU the upper hand, 2-1.
The Lady Tigers jumped back into the lead in the bottom of the fifth inning after Durand homered to center field, Fort Valley committed an error,
Klaire Spooner singled to the left side of the infield, and
Aisha Joy Duncan grounded into a fielder's choice, each scoring one run.
Keivana Durand earned the win for Edward Waters. The hurler surrendered one hit and one run over three innings, striking out one and walking one.
Riley Kapparis stepped in the circle first for EWU. The starter surrendered five hits and three runs (two earned) over four innings, striking out three and walking none.
D. Durand provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led the Lady Tigers with two runs batted in. The outfielder went 1-for-1 on the day. Spooner,

Laura Scott,
Hailey Vela, Durand, Duncan, and
Victoria Miterko each collected one hit for EWU. Edward Waters had a strong eye at the plate, amassing eight walks for the game. EWU also stole six bases in the game and turned one double play in the game.
The Lady Tigers will head to Hoover, AL for the SIAC Crossover with six games in three days against: Spring Hill, Tuskegee, Lane, Kentucky State, LeMoye-Owen and Miles. The tournament will run from March 11 through March 13 and all games will be held at the Hoover Metropolitan Complex.
