Glover's Late Game Three-Pointer Nudges Tigers Past Benedict, 73-71

Jacksonville, FL., -- The Edward Waters mens basketball teams nudged out a close, 73-71 Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) road victory over Benedict Saturday afternoon inside HRC Arena. 

With the win, the EWU Tigers have now surpassed last season's win total of 12 as they moved to 13-6 on the season with a 9-3 showing in SIAC play. 

With 19 seconds left in the game and the EWU Tigers trailing 71-70, guard Jeremiah Kwarteng collected a steal and found guard Trevino Glover in the corner for the go ahead three pointer that ultimately win the ball game for the Tigers. 

In total, Glover connected on seven of his 13 attempts from three point range, finishing with a game high 21 points off the bench. D'Shun Edwards also played well in a reserve roll notching 12 points, four assists and three rebounds. 

"The "Find a Way" Tigers found a way again,'' explained EWU Head Coach Cabral Huff. "Trevino Glover hat a game winning three-pointer with 13 seconds remaining. D'Shun played a huge factor off the bench to spark the out comeback victory. Winning on the road in conference is tough. It's great to get a road win tonight." 

Amari Floyd scored eight points, four rebounds, two steals, an assist and a block. Myles Hosten added eight points, four rebounds and two blocks. RJ Noord compiled seven points and two rebounds while Kristian Ford poured in six points and four rebounds. Ja'Kobe Williams chipped in six points, seven rebounds and three assists. 

The Tigers will look to make their sweep through South Carolina as take on Allen University on Monday, January 27 for first stint of the AME Classic this season. The game will begin at 7:30 p.m. Inside the John Hurst Adams Gymnasium.
