Montgomery, AL — The Edward Waters women's soccer team split the second half of their Alabama road trip with a 4-2 loss to Auburn-Montgomery Wednesday evening at AUM Soccer Field.
The home team Warhawks got off to an aggressive start as they compiled three first half goals. AUM scored their first goal in the opening two minutes of the match before adding the latter two scored in the 34th and 40th minutes of the contest.
The Lady Tigers came out with a rejuvenated attitude in the second half. EWU scored back-to-back goals within three miuntes of game clock. On the first goal, freshman Dadie Cherenfant scored her team-leading third goal on the season. She was assisted on the score by senior Dahien Cabrera.
On Edward Waters' second score of the match the freshman duo from Miami put their stamp on the match. Rose-Bertude Rosinvil scored her second goal of the season on an assist from Cherenfant, her team-high second the season. For Rosinvil, it was her second goal of the season. Both players played all 90 minutes and attempted five shots apiece.
Goalkeeper Olivia Galloway recorded three saves for EWU as she also played all 90 minutes of the match in the goal.
The Lady Tigers will return to play with their first home contest of the 2024 season as they will have a rematch against Barry University, a team they faced earlier this month. The game will be Monday, September 16 at the Nathaniel Glover Field and Stadium at 4:00 pm.
