Franklin Springs, Georgia-A long, three-state road trip came to an end for Edward Waters on Tuesday night with a matchup against Emmanuel University. The Purple & Orange had their chances in the contest, unfortunately coming out on the short end of a 3-0 loss to the Lions in a non-conference affair at the Shaw Athletic Center.
Edward Waters (2-5) were their own worst enemies in the contest hitting .180 with 20 errors in the match, compared to .259 for Emmanuel. (5-8, 2-2 Conference Carolinas). The Tigers did have a 36-33 edge in kills, had three service aces, five total blocks, 35 assists, and 29 digs.
Tavion Ford led the Purple & Orange with 17 kills, followed by
Richard Hendricks with 13.
Jackson Mandell led EWU with four total blocks,
Kenyon Haynes had 35 assists, and
Oneil Daley &
Aleksander Sobik had six digs apiece for the Tigers.
Edward Waters will return home to the friendly confines of the Adams-Jenkins Complex on Saturday, February 24th at 12pm as they host Talladega College in another non-conference matchup.
