Jacksonville, FL., -- After dropping their home opener 27-13 last Sunday, the Edward Waters Tigers will look to get back in the win column as they welcome in the Fort Valley State Wildcats for a home Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) clash. The game will be held at Nathaniel Glover Community Field & Stadium with kickoff slated for 4:00pm. The game will also be nationally broadcast on ESPN+.

PREVIEWING EDWARD WATERS
The Edward Waters Tigers are 1-4 so far on the season after falling in their home opener last Sunday against Tuskegee, 27-13. Offensively the Tigers are led by junior quarterback Keith Moore II, who has thrown for 487 total yards on the season with three touchdowns. Moore has added 119 yards on the ground with two more touchdowns. The ground game has been a committee led approach as Brady Tillman (218), Gregory Mango (180), Kentrelle Williams (119) and Johntarrious Thomas (116) have all rushed for over 100 yards this season. Preseason All-American Johnny Jones leads the Tigers in both catches with 15 and receiving yards at 148. Jones also added his first two touchdowns of the season against Tuskegee. The tight end combo of Fatoma Paulk and Raveon Moore have both added a couple touchdown receptions so far on the year. Senior Deven Thompson is leading EWU with 17 yards per catch on the season.
Edward Waters is currently ranked fourth in the conference in total defense and third in the SIAC in passing defense led by two interceptions apiece from sophomore Stephan French and De'Angelo Sapp. French is also second on the team in tackles with 27. Senior Widmyer Garçon ranks 13th in the SIAC with a team-leading 30 total tackles. Jonathan Nesbit has compiled 25 total tackles and Dartrell Rolle has added 24 tackles on the season.
PREVIEWING FORT VALLEY STATE
The Fort Valley State Wildcats come into this SIAC match up with a 2-2 overall record and an 2-1 mark in conference play after a 30-0 shutout victory over Savannah State. FVSU us also ranked sixth in the D2 HBCU Coaches Poll. Offensive the Wildcats are led by quarterback Kelvin Durham who's 1,005 passing yards leads the SIAC. Durham is also tied for the conference lead with 10 touchdowns. Brandon Marshall has garnered 272 yards on the ground to go along with five touchdowns. Marshall is also the Wildcats leading receiver with 274 yards on 19 catches and three more touchdowns. Defensively, Malik Harp and Kentrell Lawson lead Fort Valley State with 16 total tackles each.
NEXT GAME:
The Edward Waters Tigers will have a bye week next Saturday before returning home October 19 to face the Savannah State Tigers at Nathaniel Glover Field and Stadium for an SIAC contest. The game will take place at 6:00 pm.
