Albany, Georgia-Edward Waters nearly came back from a four point halftime deficit, but unfortunately the Tigers saw their three-game winning streak snapped witha 67-65 road loss at Albany State on Saturday afternoon at the Arena at West Campus.
Edward Waters (6-8, 5-3 SIAC) led by as many as eight point in the first half, before a late Albany State (6-8, 4-4 SIAC) rallied back to seize control of the contest, ultimately taking a 39-35 lead at halftime. The Golden Rams would add to their lead in the second half, leading by as many as 10 points. The Tigers would come back to tie the contest at 65-65 with 1:52 remaining in the contest but a EWU foul would cost the Tigers as ASU sunk two free throws with less than :25 remaining to come away with the win.
Goliath Mitchell led the Edward Waters efforts in the contest with 24 points on 10-15 shooting, while
Amari Floyd chipped in with 16 points and two boards.
The Tigers complete their road trip on Monday afternoon against Fort Valley State at 5:00pm in Georgia.
