Boca Raton, Florida-Edward Waters ran into a proverbial buzzsaw on Friday afternoon as the Lady Tigers fell at #25 Lynn University in straight sets in a road contest at the de Hoernle Sports Center.
For the Lady Tigers (1-2, 0-0 SIAC), they could not get their offense going, hitting -.058 in the match and further compounded their issues with 23 total errors. Lynn on the other hand (3-2, 0-0 Sunshine State), pounced on those errors, hitting .270 in the match, while recording 39 kills, six service aces, and eight blocks.
For Edward Waters,
Fatima Ramirez led the Lady Tigers with 10 kills, followed by newcomer
Jeslian Vazquez with three and
Mataiya Barber with one. Barber dished out 14 assists, while
Jenieth Guzman tallied a match high 15 digs for the Lady Tigers.
EWU will look to quickly forget about this showing and look to rebound on Saturday in Miami Gardens as the Lady Tigers matchup against rival Florida Memorial at 4:00pm.
