Men's Basketball Falls To USCB In Home Contest

Jacksonville, Florida-A less than stellar shooting night for Edward Waters cost them dearly in their 99-78 home loss to USC Beaufort in their midweek, non-conference affair Thursday evening at the Adams-Jenkins Complex.

Edward Waters (2-5, 1-0 SIAC) could not counteract a hot shooting USCB (5-1, 0-0 PBC) squad, nor could they keep them out of the paint. In the contest, The Sand Sharks scored 52 of their 98 points in the painted area, and also added 30 second chance points off of 20 offensive rebounds. The Tigers shot just 38% from the floor on 30-of-78 shooting, and were ice cold from behind the three-point line, hitting just 26% of their shots on 6-of-23 shooting. The Sand Sharks shot 51% from the floor on 38-74 shooting, including going 12-for-31 from the three-point line.

Goliath Mitchell again led the Tigers in scoring on the night with 21 points on 9-of-18 shooting, while also adding seven rebounds and two steals. R. J. Noord fell just two rebounds short of his first double-double of the season with 19 points and eight rebounds.

The Tigers return to SIAC play on Saturday, December 2nd in Fairfield, Alabama with a matchup against the defending SIAC Champion Golden Bears of Miles College with tipoff set for 4:00pm CST/5:00pm EST.
