SERIES HISTORY:
The Purple & Orange meet up with Lane for the 10th all-time meeting between the two teams. The Dragons maintain a 6-3 advantage in the series, and at present are on a five game winning streak over EWU, including last season's 20-9 victory in Jackson. The last victory for the Tigers over Lane came in 2004, a 21-9 victory in Jacksonville.

PREVIEWING EDWARD WATERS:
LAST TIME OUT: Edward Waters held on for a thrilling 26-25 road victory over Savannah State last Saturday evening. The Tigers scored the first 13 points of the contest, and ultimately took a 20-12 lead at the half. SSU responded in the 4th quarter with 13 points to take a 25-20 lead with 4:52 remaining. EWU was able to respond with a nine play, 75-yard drive that culminated in an 18-yd TD pass to Johnny Jones that allowed EWU to retake the lead with 1:22 remaining. SSU drove down into EWU territory and had a chance at a 37 yard game winning FG, but it bounced off of the right upright, giving EWU their second win in a row.
ASCENDING OFFENSE: The EWU offense over the past three games has been near unstoppable. After struggling in their first two contests, The Tigers have posted three straight games of 400+ yards of total offense. Last week, Edward Waters had 464 yards. The Tiger Passing offense has been on fire as well. EWU has shot up to now being the #2 ranked passing offense in the SIAC, posting 271.4 yards per game, with 11 TDs. Jyron Russell is also second in the league in passing (96-156 passing, 1293 yds, 61.5 comp pct, 11 TDs, 7 INTs, 258.6 avg). Johnny Jones leads the SIAC in every receiving statistic (41 rec, 501 yds, 12.2 ypc, 2 TDs). Last week against SSU, he had 11 catches for 119 yds, & 2TDs and was selected as the SIAC Newcomer of the Week.
DEFENSE STARTING TO HUNT: The arrow is also pointing north for the EWU Defense. as they are now #7 in scoring offense, #7 in total offense, #7 against the run, and #8 against the pass. The Tigers have also recorded takeaways in each of the last three contests.
HOMECOMING WIN STREAK: Edward Waters is looking to defend the home turf for Homecoming and continue their winning streak. The Tigers have won their last three Homecoming contests ('22 vs. Atlantis, '21 vs. Central State, '19 vs. Allen)
PREVIEWING LANE COLLEGE:
DRAGONS SHOWING FIGHT: Similar to Edward Waters, Lane has also had their share of issues this season. The Dragons lost their first four contests of the year, but last Saturday in Atlanta, Lane finally cracked the win column with a 34-24 win over Clark Atlanta.
BY THE NUMBERS: Lane is 9th in the SIAC in scoring offense (19.2 ppg), 7th in total offense (341.0 ypg), 6th rushing (119.0 ypg), & 7th passing (220.0 ypg). Defensively, the Dragons are 11th in scoring defense (37.6 ppg), 9th in total defense (371.0 ypg), 11th against the run (167.0 ypg), amd 4th against the pass (204.0 ypg).
INDIVIDUAL LEADERS: Junior RB Kylan Duhe is the SIAC's second leading rusher (94 carries, 432 yds, avg. 4.6 ypc, 4 TDs. Sophomore QB Polo Solomon is 7th in the league (62-113 passing, 743 yds, 54.9 comp pct, 5 TDs, 4 INTs). Junior WR Jacquez Jones is 7th in receiving (22 rec., 325 yds, avg. 14.8 ypc, 2 TDs). Defensively, Junior LB Asmar Hasan leads the conference in tackles, with 59, including 1.5 sacks.
BROWN BEGINS SEASON #3: Head Coach Vyron Brown is in his third season at the helm of the Lane football program. He sports a 12-13 overall record as Dragons Head Coach.
