PREVIEWING EDWARD WATERS:
TIGERS vs. FCS COMPETITION: Since football was reinstituted at Edward Waters in 2001, the Tigers have faced 25 FCS teams. The Tigers have a 3-22 record against those teams, with all three of their wins coming against Savannah State ('03, '07, '08), when they were a member of the FCS. EWU has been outscored 1127-313 in those games.

AGAINST THE BIG SOUTH: The Tigers played four times against Big South Conference teams (three times against Charleston Southern in '06, '08, and '12, and Kennesaw State in 2015). The Tigers are 0-4 in those games and have been outscored 195-20.

LAST TIME OUT: Edward Waters dropped a tough 56-7 home contest to defending SIAC champion Albany State last Saturday night in Jacksonville. The Tigers offense could not get anything going against a stingy Golden Ram defense, only mustering 94 yards of total offense throughout the game (50 yards rushing, 44 passing) and turned the ball over three times in the game as well. The only points EWU scored in the game came off of a 70 yard interception return for a touchdown in the 1st quarter from Senior DB Ahmaud Jordan. The Tigers defense had some issues as well against ASU, giving up 549 yards of total offense (224 rushing, 325 passing).

PREVIEWING NORTH CAROLINA A&T:
NEW ERA OF AGGIE FOOTBALL: After spending 50 years and being a founding member of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC), North Carolina A&T made the move to the Big South in 2021. The Aggies have had fantastic success over the past decade, being arguably the most dominant HBCU football program in the country. Since the inception of the Celebration Bowl that pits the MEAC Champion against the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Champion, the Aggies have won that contest and the claim of HBCU National Champion four times ('15, '17, '18, '19). The Aggies will move once again next season to the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) at the beginning of the 2023 season.

AGGIES THIS SEASON: A&T enters Saturday's action with a 2-3 record, and 2-0 in Big South Conference play. The Aggies were on a bye week last week, after a 24- 13 home conference win over Bryant University. A&T is averaging 327.2 ypg offensively (143.8 passing, 183.4 rushing). Defensively, they are conceding 302.6 ypg (205.4 passing, 97.2 rushing). RS-FR QB Zachary Yeager is first on their depth chart, going 27-59 passing for 296 yards, one TD and two INTs. RS-SR QB Jalen Fowler is second on their depth chart, going 37-59 passing for 365 yards, three TDs and 1 INT. SO RB Bhayshul Tuten is A&T's leading rusher, with 534 yards on 83 carries, averages 6.4 ypc, and has four TDs. Through the Air, graduate WR Zachary Leslie leads the Aggies with 140 yards receiving on 10 catches, averaging 14 ypg. On the defensive side of the ball, SO LB Tyquan King is the team's leading tackler with 48 tackles, including three TFLs and one INT. Graduate DL Devin Harrell is the team's leader in sacks with three, and both RS-SO DB Karon Prunty and RS-FR DB Avarion Cole lead the way with two INTs apiece. Prunty had two picks in their last action against Bryant.

LEAD DOG: After spending seven seasons as defensive coordinator under former head coach Rod Broadway, Tampa native Sam Washington is in his fifth season in charge in Greensboro. Washington has a 24-13 record, a .649 winning percentage, has led A&T to two MEAC championships, and two HBCU National Titles in 2018 & 2019.
