Justin Griffin began his tenure as Deputy Athletic Director at Edward Waters University in April 2026, bringing a dynamic background in athletic fundraising, development, and strategic relationship management.
Griffin arrives at EWU following a highly successful stint at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, where he served as Director of Development for the Lee Business School. In that role, he led comprehensive fundraising and alumni engagement initiatives, cultivating relationships with key stakeholders, corporate partners, and donors. His efforts produced significant financial growth, including securing more than $7 million in funding during fiscal year 2026 alone.
Prior to UNLV, Griffin held leadership roles at Lincoln University of Missouri, where he served as Executive Director of the Blue Tiger Athletics Club and Director of Advancement. While overseeing fundraising operations across academic and athletic units, he played a pivotal role in generating more than $700,000 in scholarship support and spearheaded major campaigns such as a successful Giving Tuesday initiative.
Griffin’s foundation in intercollegiate athletics development was established at Florida A&M University, where he worked within the athletic department’s revenue generation unit, supporting fundraising efforts for the Rattler Athletic Fund. He also gained valuable experience with Seminole Boosters, Inc., contributing to donor relations, planned giving, and community outreach initiatives tied to Florida State Athletics.
A former collegiate football student-athlete at Point University and Florida A&M, Griffin combines firsthand athletic experience with a strong business and development acumen. His professional background also includes roles in project management, membership services, and client relations, further enhancing his ability to lead complex operations and build meaningful partnerships.
Griffin holds both a Master’s degree in Sport Management and a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration/Marketing from Florida A&M University. He is an active member of the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE).
