Jason Brown was hired as Edward Water's Director of Athletic Media Relations & Marketing on July 29, 2024. 

Brown previously served as Senior Social Content Manager for Hi5Agency, a creative agency that takes an audience-first approach to storytelling. During his two years at Hi5Agency, Brown managed and implemented brand voicing strategies for several companies, including Amazon Prime Gaming, Diablo, and Google Pixel. He collaborated with Strategy, Social, and Creative teams to develop and execute brand voice, social media strategies, and creative proposals for new business opportunities.
 
Before Hi5Agency, Brown worked as a Senior Social Media Manager for DAZN. At DAZN, he spearheaded the launch and promotion of the NFL partnership with DAZN Canada and led the social team’s strategies for integrated content for US boxing and Canada rights. Brown fostered relationships with social media influencers and professional athletes, amplifying content reach and generating $750K in incremental new revenue, contributing to a total of nearly $1.8M in new business in 2021.
 
Prior to DAZN, Brown was the Sports Information Director at Cal State East Bay (CSUEB) from 2016 to 2021. There, he served as the primary communications manager and department liaison for all 15 intercollegiate athletic programs. Brown facilitated promotional campaigns, produced video content, managed the athletic department’s website, and created content projects in support of media relations, marketing, and game management.
 
While at CSUEB, Brown also served as a Production Assistant for the Golden State Warriors during the 2018-19 season. He produced projects for the franchise’s corporate partners and sponsors, generating revenue and ticket sales, and supported the production of three Northern California Emmy Award-winning pieces ("Warriors Ground: Quinn Cook", "That Moment", & "Our Time is Now").
 
During the 2018 MLB season, Brown served as a Broadcast Assistant with the Oakland Athletics. He recorded and produced pre-game audio interviews for the Bo Mel and Ray Fosse 95.7 Pre-Game Show, managed and archived video assets for social media enhancement, and facilitated post-game press conferences between players, coaches, and media.
 
Before his time in California’s Bay Area, Brown was an Assistant Athletics Communications Director at Coppin State University in Baltimore, Maryland. He served as Interim Athletic Communications Director for the first semester of the academic year, managing all administrative and sports information duties, and developing news releases, feature stories, game preview articles, and post-game recaps for all sports teams.
 
Prior to Coppin State, Brown was an Assistant Video Producer at Fresno State University. At FSU, he supervised communications, video production, and other external department staff to deliver consistent messaging and content for gobulldogs.com. He also produced in-game content for video replay boards and web streaming, and delegated annual season highlights and review videos, commercial television spots, banquet videos, and marketing and promotional videos.
 
A native of Lakeland, Fla., Brown earned his bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism from Florida A&M University in the Spring of 2013.
