Edward Waters University

Henry Smith begins his nineteenth year at Edward Waters College and his first in his new role as Special Assistant to the Athletic Director and Director of Gameday Operations. He previously served Sports Information Director until August 2018. During his tenure at EWC, he has served in several additional roles in the athletic department including the areas of marketing and operations.

Smith has been an active member of the NAIA-SIDA, working as a presenter and table topics panelist at the National Association of College Marketing, and has served as the Coordinator for the NAIA Division I South Region as a Poll Rater. He has been certified in the NAIA's Champions of Character, Contest Management and Administration, and Management programs. 

In 2018, Smith was inducted into the Community Service wing of the Bob Hayes Track & Field Invitational Hall of Fame. He also was recognized by his peer SIDs as the inaugural Gulf Coast Athletic Conference Sports Information Director of the Year.

A native of Jacksonville and a graduate of William M. Raines High School, Smith has been married to the former Sandy Simpson for five years.
