Taja Valmyr

Taja Valmyr begins her second season as the lead assistant coach for both the women's & men's volleyball programs at Edward Waters University.

Valmyr has been instrumental to the success of both programs since arriving at EWU, helping lead both programs to championship success with the Lady Tigers winning their first GCAC Championship, and the Tiger Men clinching the SIAC Regular Season Co-Championship and Tournament Runner-Up in 2021-22.

Prior to coming to EWU, Valmyr spent the previous four seasons coaching club at Jacksonville Juniors. 

Valmyr also was a well decorated player at Flagler College, clinching three Conference Championships, an AVCA All-American selection, three All-Peach Belt Conference nods, and made three NCAA Tournament appearances. Valmyr graduated from Flagler in 2018, earning a degree in strategic communications.

A native of Green Cove Springs, Florida, Valmyr also had a decorated prep career at Clay High School. Valmyyr lettered in multiple sports over her four years at CHS, earning four letters in volleyball, two in basketball and two more in track. She was an All-First Coast Conference selection as a senior after recording 322 kills, 31 aces and 200 digs for the Lady Blue Devils.
