Jean Dessein begins his first season as Assistant Head Coach and Offensive Coordinator at Edward Waters College.

The Pompano Beach, Florida native comes to Edward Waters after spending four years as the the Director of Player Personnel at Bethune-Cookman University. In addition to being the Player Personnel Director, Dessein also was the Assistant Tight Ends Coach and Offensive Quality Control Coach for the Wildcats.

Dessein, also played two seasons at B-CU as a tight end from 2010-11. After his football eligibility was completed, Dessein came back to B-CU in 2012, finishing his degree and earning a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice from B-CU in 2013. He would also go on to achieve his Master's Degree in Transformative Leadership from Bethune-Cookman in 2015.

Prior to his arrival at B-CU as a student-athlete, Dessein played one year of football at St. Paul's College in Lawrenceville, Virginia during the 2007 campaign. That year, he served as quarterback for the Tigers before the program was disbanded, forcing him to find a new home to play collegiate football.

During the 2013-14 season of football at B-CU, Dessein worked as a graduate assistant with Director of Operations Jeff Fagan. He would also serve as a graduate assistant and volunteer assistant with the tight ends position under B-CU assistant coach Lawal McCray.
