Jacksonville, FL., -- The Edward Waters men's basketball team dropped their regular season finale to the visiting Fort Valley State Wildcats, 78-75 inside the Adams-Jenkins Complex on Wednesday night.
With the loss, the Tigers fell to fifth place in the SIAC East Division Standings with a 16-12 overall mark on the season and a 12-9 showing in conference action.
Jeremiah Kwarteng led the Tigers with a season high 23 points to go along with three rebounds and one steal. Kwarteng's aggressiveness got him to the foul line where he knocked down 14 of his 16 attempts. RJ Noord collected his first double-double on the season scoring 10 points and grabbing 10 rebounds.
The Tigers started the game shooting well as they finished 43.24% from the field in the first half. But EWU failed to replicate their same hot shooting touch as they cooled to just 29% as a team after halftime.
Trevino Glover led the Tiger reserves with 14 points, three rebounds and two assists off the bench. Adonnis Tolbert was a presence in the paint tallying 10 points, five rebounds and two blocks.
The Tigers will open the first round of the 2025 Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) Tournament with a road match up against Kentucky State on Saturday, March 1 with tipoff scheduled for 1 p.m.
