Jacksonville, FL., -- The Edward Waters women's basketball team collected their second straight win with 80-70 road victory over AME rival Allen University tonight inside the John Hurst Adams Gymnasium.

With the win the Lady Tigers improved to 11-6 on the season with a 7-5 showing in Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) play. 

EWU played a well rounded contest as they dominated every category except rebounds over the Allen. The Lady Tigers pressure defense held Allen players to just 34.8% (24-for-69) from the floor including 20% (5-for-25) from beyond the arc. Meanwhile Edward Waters shot 50% (25-for-50) and 45.5% from long distance. 

Guard Mia Morel erupted for a game-high 26 points on 8-for-13 shooting from the floor. Morel also knocked down eight of her nine foul shots and connected on two three pointers while adding six rebounds, two assists and a steal. Imani Harris added 12 points with three rebounds, two assists, two blocks and a steal. 

The Lady Tigers offense once again received an huge boost from it's reserve players. Nekaya Williams and Leah Perry both led the Edward Waters bench scoring with nine points each. Williams added three rebounds and three assists while Perry chipped in four rebounds and a steal. 

The Lady Tigers will open the month of February with a Saturday afternoon road meeting with rival Savannah State. Tipoff is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Inside Tiger Arena.
