Late Second Half Surge Lifts Buccaneers Past Lady Tigers, 4-2

Lady Tiger Freshmen each score a goal as EWU falls to Barry U.

Miami, FL., — The Edward Waters women's soccer team dropped their season opener on the road at Barry University by a final score of 4-2.

It took two late second half goals from the Buccaneers to secure the victory over the Lady Tigers. It was also EWU that opened the scoring for the match as freshman Rose-Bertude Rosinvil scored the first goal of the season early in the first half. Rosinvil, a native of Miami, notched her first career goal as a Lady Tiger.

The Buccaneers would tie the game just before the end of the 1st half and open the second half with a goal to take a 2-1 lead. But Edward Waters even the score as fellow freshman and another Miami native Dadie Cherenfant put a shot on the assist from teammate Rose-Bertude Rosinvil

It would be Barry University that was score the final two goals of the game late in the second half to pick up the season opening victory. The Tigers used a rotation of goalkeepers as Olivia Galloway and Sheila Pascual both saw action in the net. Galloway collected four saves while Pascual added three saves.

The Lady Tigers will return to action next week with a pair of matches in Alabama against Spring Hill College and Auburn University-Montgomery.
