Jacksonville, Florida-A motivated group of Tigers hit the floor on Tuesday evening with revenge on their minds as Edward Waters battled Warner in a non-conference matchup at the Adams-Jenkins Complex. EWU was able to avenge their March 9th road loss in Polk County with a straight sets sweep of the Royals.

The Tigers (12-14, 8-1 SIAC) made quick work of Warner (8-19, 3-19 AAC) in a match that took just over an hour to complete. Edward Waters won 25-16, 25-9, and 25-17 to run their home record to 5-1 on the season.

The Purple & Orange hit a robust .350 in the match with 38 kills, while holding their opponents to a .049. hitting percentage with just 19 kills. The Tigers also had five service aces, five blocks, 35 assists, and 39 digs that aided them in victory.

Tavion Ford led EWU with 13 kills in the match, followed by Richard Hendricks with 12, and Kenyon Haynes with five. Both Haynes and Dillon Taylor had three blocks, Haynes also dished out 30 assists, and Hendricks led in digs with eight.

The Tigers will conclude their 2024 regular season on Friday, April 12th at home in a critically important matchup against conference leader Fort Valley State. With a victory, Edward Waters can claim their third straight SIAC Regular Season Championship. First serve is set for 5:00pm at the Adams-Jenkins Complex.
