Atlanta, Georgia-The Edward Waters men's volleyball squad continued to show why they are the class of the SIAC up to this point as the conference leaders remained undefeated with a dominant 3-0 road victory at Morehouse Tuesday evening at Forbes Arena at McAfee Court.
Edward Waters (8-3, 5-0 SIAC) met little resistance from the Maroon Tigers (0-13, 0-6 SIAC), dominating in every facet of the contest. The Purple & Orange hit a robust .424 in the match on 36 kills, compared to -.106 on 13 kills for Morehouse.
Newcomer
Jayden Durrah, on his most extended action of the season, led the way in the contest with six kills, including two service aces.
Kaelen Ingram finished with five kills, while
Dillon Taylor had five for Edward Waters.
Jhoan Capellan got it done from the service line and defensively with four service aces and two blocks as well as a match high 18 assists. Fellow freshman
Jackson Mandell finished with two blocks, while Durrah had one for the Tigers.
Oneil Daley racked up five digs to lead the way for EWU, while
Jamesly Metayer and Ingram each had four for the Tigers.
Edward Waters will wrap up their four-game road trip on Friday in Polk County against the Warriors of Webber International. First serve from the Sabbagh Center in Babson Park, FL is set for 5:00pm.
