Fort Valley, Georgia-In a season full of close losses, Edward Waters added another to the tally in their 81-78 SIAC road loss to Fort Valley State on Saturday Afternoon at the HPE Arena.
Edward Waters (5-20, 4-16 SIAC) took control of the contest in the first half, taking a 34-32 lead into the locker room. Unfortunately, the second half did not go the way of the Purple & Orange as a second half surge from Fort Valley State (12-15,10-10 SIAC) allowed them to outscore the Tigers 49-44 en route to the three point home victory.
EWU was able to outshoot Fort Valley State 41.5% to 38.8% in the contest, but 17 turnovers for the Tigers led to 18 Wildcat points, which proved to be the undoing for EWU.
Adnan Hussein led Edward Waters with 17 points off of the Tigers bench, including going 4-of-8 from three point range.
Larry Kuimi turned in a double-double effort with 13 points and 12 rebounds, while
Tavares Oliver finished with 10 points for EWU.
