Jacksonville, Florida-After a tough showing on Tuesday evening in a home loss to Albany State, Edward Waters was able to right the ship on Wednesday evening in a 3-0 sweep of Fort Valley State at the Adams-Jenkins Complex. The victory for the Lady Tigers also clinched the squad's second consecutive SIAC East Division Championship.
Prior to the match, Edward Waters (20-6, 17-2 SIAC) honored their three seniors and final members of the 2021 Gulf Coast Athletic Conference Championship team in

The Lady Tigers honored their seniors with a dominant effort over Fort Valley State (11-16, 5-14) outhitting the Lady Wildcats .212 to -.011 in the match. Edward Waters had a 33-20 edge in kills, a wide 8-1 advantage in service aces, 9-4 in blocks, 28-23 in assists, and 40-32 in digs.
Fatima Ramirez led Edward Waters with 12 kills, three service aces, and eight digs.
Naomy Vergez Varona finished her night with nine kills, four blocks, and two assists, while
De'Nyla Harlan finished with seven kills.
Brandy Gilberry led the Lady Tiger block party with six total blocks,
Mataiya Barber dished out 19 assists, and
Jenieth Guzman finished with a match high 10 digs.
Edward Waters will enter next week's SIAC Women's Volleyball Championship as the East Division's #1 seed. The tournament will take place November 9th-10th at the Tsunami Volleyball Center in Jonesboro, Georgia.
