Columbus, Georgia-The road has not been too kind to Edward Waters over their first couple of contests to open the season as for the second straight contest, the Purple & Orange matched up against another perennial NCAA Division II powerhouse in Columbus State on Wednesday evening at the Lumpkin Center. Unfortunately for the Tigers, the result remained the same as EWU dropped an 85-62 decision to the Cougars.

Edward Waters' (0-2, 0-0 SIAC) biggest enemy during the contest was their turnovers as 22 Tiger turnovers turned into 24 Columbus State (3-0, 0-0 Peach Belt) points. Additionally, EWU struggled from beyond the arc, shooting just 3-for-17 from three point range (17.6%), while CSU went 11-for-28 (39.3%). For the contest, Edward Waters shot 41% from the field on 26-of-62 shooting, while their opponents shot 44% from the floor on 28-of-63 shooting. On the bright side, Edward Waters did own rhe advantage in rebounding, collecting 43 boards to 29 for the Cougars, including a 14-7 edge in offensive rebounding.

Goliath led Edward Waters with 15 points on 7-of-13 shooting, while also adding eight boards to his tally. D'Shun Edwards came three rebounds short of a double-double with 10 points and seven boards, while R. J. Noord also came within an eyelash of a double-double with eight points and ten rebounds.

Edward Waters heads to Huntsville, Alabama to take part in the Huntsville Classic hosted by the University of Alabama at Huntsville. The Tigers will open play on Friday against former Gulf Coast Athletic Conference foe, Fisk University with tip-off set for 6:30pm.
