Women's Soccer Drops Third Straight Match

Jacksonville, Florida-Edward Waters' goalless streak was finally snapped at two games on Wednesday evening in their home match against Florida Southern. Unfortunately for the Purple & Orange, their losing streak was extended to three in an 8-1 loss at Glover Community Field & Stadium.

The Lady Tigers (1-5) surrendered the first seven goals of Wednesday's contest to Florida Southern (3-1-2, 0-0-0 SSC), before finally cracking the scoreboard in the 80th minute. A handball in the penalty box against the Mocs, giving Edward Waters a penalty shot. Freshman defender Ara Acha Lucas struck the ball in the upper right corner to bring EWU within six goals at 7-1. FSC promptly responded in the 83rd minute with their final goal of the match to salt things away at 8-1.

Florida Southern had 17 total shots, with 14 of them being on goal, while Edward Waters had six total shots with just three on goal. Jaleen Council recorded two shots to lead the way for Edward Waters. Sheila Pascual had six total saves in the match for EWU. 

Edward Waters will continue their four-game home stand on Wednesday, September 21st for a 7:00pm kickoff against rival Florida Memorial at Glover Community Field & Stadium.
