Mobile, Alabama-Edward Waters could not hold on to a 12 point halftime lead, unfortunately dropping an 81-71 decision to Spring Hill on Thursday evening in an SIAC matchup at the Arthur R. Outlaw Recreation Center.
The Tigers (2-4, 2-3 SIAC) had a solid first half in the contest, closing the half on a 14-3 run to take a 48-36 lead into the locker room. The second half however did not go the way of the Purple & Orange as they were outscored 45-28 to drop their second consecutive contest.
After shooting 55.56% in the first half, Edward Waters went ice cold in the second, only shooting 25.8% on 8-31 shooting from the field. EWU was also outrebounded 41-34 in the contest, including a 12-10 deficit in offensive rebobunding.Â
Tavares Oliver led EWU with 21 points, three boards, and seven assists.
Jonathan Kanyanga turned in a 12 point, seven rebound night, while
Ca'Darrius Crumb finished with 10 points and six rebounds.
Edward Waters will head to Tuskegee in their next contest on Saturday, December 17th at 5:00pm.
