Jacksonville, Florida-Edward Waters continued their dominance of the SIAC East Division on Thursday evening with a 3-0 sweep of Clark Atlanta in a match at the Adams-Jenkins Community Sports & Music Complex. The win for the Lady Tigers clinches a regular season sweep of the Lady Panthers, going along with a 3-1 win for EWU in Atlanta on October 16th.
Edward Waters (18-8, 9-2 SIAC) flexed their offensive and defensive muscle in the matchup, notching 41 kills and 58 digs. The Lady Tigers outhit Clark Atlanta (12-18, 7-10 SIAC) .291 to .028 in the match, racked up six service aces, four blocks, and 40 assists.
EWU was led once again by
Fatima Ramirez who recorded another double-double effort with 17 kills and 14 digs.
Audrianna Jones finished with 10 digs, and
Saniya Spalding had five for the Lady Tigers.
Catherine Richards,
Audrianna Jones, and
Saniya Spalding each had two blocks for EWU, while
Mataiya Barber dished out a match high 35 assists.
Andrea Diaz Merced led EWU with 24 digs in the match as well.
Edward Waters will make a brief step outside of conference play on Saturday for a match against Flagler College at 3pm at the AJC.
