Adams-Jenkins Community Sports & Music Complex
The Adams-Jenkins Community Sports & Music Complex is named after former Bishop of the African Methodist Episcopal Church, John Hurst Adams and former President of Edward Waters College, Dr. Jimmy R. Jenkins. Constructed in 2005, it serves as the home of the Tiger & Lady Tiger Basketball teams as well as the Lady Tiger Volleyball team. The 50,000 square foot facility also houses the College's Music and Choir programs.
With a seating capacity of 1,950, the complex also houses Athletic Department staff offices, classroom spaces, a large conference room, warming kitchen, a concession area, an athletic training area, weight room, four locker rooms, a tutor hall for student-athletes to study and receive assistance in their studies, and a private suite known as "The Baker Suite". The AJC also has converted the rear concession area into what is known as the “Tiger Den”, A place where student-athletes can come and refuel on healthy snacks and drinks.
The complex has hosted several events including the 2011, 2012, and 2019 Gulf Coast Athletic Conference (GCAC) Basketball Championships and is slated to once again host the GCAC’s in 2021. The complex has also been home to the annual TEAM UP Cheerleading Competition, the Neighborhood Assistance Corporation of America (NACA) Conference, the annual United Negro College Fund (UNCF) High School All-Star Basketball Classic, seminars, workshops, banquets, clinics, and several other community activities.
In 2021, the complex received major upgrades with a brand new, one-of-a-kind basketball floor, complete with iconic purple & orange tiger stripes, new gray bleachers, a new videoboard, and new automated scorers table.
